Taylor Swift and her younger brother Austin have always been are super close. Although she might be one of the biggest stars in the music industry, Austin has decide to forge his own path and is taking on Hollywood, being an actor. In a new interview, Austin opened up about what it's like being Tay's younger brother and how watching her go through the ups and downs of being in the music business has impacted his outlook.
"When we were kids, I saw Taylor write songs every day for years when there was no one to play them to. I watched her go door-to-door dropping off demo CD's at labels that never called. [I] was there when she was performing at karaoke contests and in the corners of parties with the same enthusiasm she now plays to stadiums full of her fans. Having seen that example, how much goes in, how long it took ... That's always going to be bedrock for who I am and who I want to be," Austin said.
How cool is that? He was there firsthand to witness Taylor's rise to stardom and along the way, she has truly inspired him. He also went on to speak about how how he was able to cope after the Swift family decided to publicly reveal that their mom, Andrea was diagnosed with cancer.
"An ocean of people rose up around me to offer support and open up about their own experiences. People were there for me and it transformed what could have been a very lonely, impossible time. I'll never forget that," Austin said.
That is truly powerful and it's always good to heart that he had such a solid support system during what was most definitely one of the hardest times in his and his family's life.
