It all started when Taylor brought the gals of Little Mix on stage with her during her 1989 Tour this past Saturday in Santa Clara, California. Very promptly after, Zayn, who recently broke off his two-year engagement with LM star Perrie Edwards, retweeted a post that threw shade at Taylor by using Miley Cyrus. The original tweet praised Miley for her free-spirited attitude toward making music and shaded Taylor, backhandedly suggesting that for Tay, it's all about the money.
Cue Taylor's new beau Calvin. The "How Deep Is Your Love" artist wasted no time getting involved in the Twitter feud, writing tweets like, "If u (sic) don't get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry..." and "Meaning... stay out of things you don't understand."
But it doesn't stop there. Zayn didn't really enjoy being called out on Twitter, so he reacted with a slew of explosive, expletive-ridden tweets. (Not to mention, the former One Direction star took a dig at a Calvin's age. He's 31.)
YIKES! As you can tell, it got pretty heated. Zayn even went as far as to say he writes his own music, implying that Calvin does not. (
Guess they call him the Bradford Bad Boy for a reason.)
But no worries because it seems like these two have already resolved their very public Twitter conflict. Calvin initiated the whole "taking the high road" thing, as he ended his tweets with, "Best of luck, genuinely. You've got a great voice."
We're sweating bullets just writing all of this, as it elevated so quickly and unexpectedly. But we're happy to see that not only did Calvin choose to be mature about the feud, he even complimented Zayn on his voice.
