Today marks a special day in the Disney Channel Original Movie universe: it's the eight-year anniversary of Camp Rock. That's right, it's been eight whole years since Mitchie headed off to the camp of her dreams and befriended the band Connect 3, having a dramatic, yet super cute love story with the lead singer, Shane. Pretty much anyone who is a fan of this classic DCOM can still belt out the words to "This Is Me" and might casually throw a "I'm too cool for you" reference at someone every now and then when they're feeling a little sassy. It's the movie that simply spoke to everyone who saw it, and catapulted Demi Lovato into becoming the superstar she is today, and kick-started her friendships with Nick and Joe Jonas. So it's easy to see why we are forever grateful for this movie! Joe even took to Twitter to commemorate the occasion, cracking a joke about how the musical is as old as a kid who is in school learning some specific math skills.
Camp Rock is 8 years old today. It just started learning multiplication. Happy birthday kid. @ddlovato @nickjonas @kevinjonas #werock— J O E J O N A S (@joejonas) June 20, 2016
