Girl Meets World has sadly come to it's end, and although it will be missed the fans, the cast too didn't really want to let go of the beloved characters they brought to life so soon either. Corey Fogelmanis spoke in a recent interview about how his character Farkle is someone he really connected to, even though they're very different from each other.
"Of course I'm gonna miss him. It's really interesting with this character because I grew up so much with him. There was so much evolution with him, I was adapting with him all the time. There were so many times when I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I don't know who this character is.' We grew up together. I'll be sad to say goodbye, but I'll always have that documented," Corey said.
Farkle is simply a part of Corey and even though he might not be telling Farkle's story any longer, it will always live on, as will Corey's off-screen friendships with his castmates. Like their characters, the GMW cast totally bonded and the actors said he know these friendships will last forever.
"I will definitely be staying in touch and we have stayed in touch since we wrapped season three. I've created some wonderful friendships throughout this process, and that's one of my favorite things about being a part of this," he said.
It's still unclear whether GMW fill find a home at another network, but it's something the shows' creator Michael Jacobs is working hard to make a reality.
"I'm making an attempt to find a home for an evolution of the franchise. The last thing we want to do is overstay our welcome when we have always been so warmly received. But the idea I have to continue is a good one. If somebody moves on it immediately, great. If not, it’s been on the air going on 25 years. Lots of lessons learned," Michael said to Deadline.
Sabrina Carpenter was recently asked about her thoughts on fans trying to hard for the show to get renewed on another network and she said it's just a testament to how passionate the fandom really is. Corey also touched upon if he would be down to come back if the series finds a new home and he's open to it.
"I would like to think I would, yes, of course. It all depends. There are so many things to take into account. Of course if everyone else came back, we do have more stories to tell, so if we were given the opportunity, I think it'd be nice to pick back up where we left off," Corey shared. So he is game to play Farkle again, but being the fabulous soul he is, Corey kept things into perspective that if this doesn't pan out, fans shouldn't be too upset.
"Either way it'll be alright," he added.
Truer words have never been spoken.
