It all started on Pink's personal Instagram account, where she made claims that she felt "embarrassed," "sad," and "old" while watching this year's VMAs. "In all seriousness; I felt sad because music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won't save any kid's life...."
She continued, "Disenfranchised to say the least. Let down by my industry and peers."
But the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer didn't stop there. She called out the performances she enjoyed the most, citing Macklemore, Pharrell, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Tori Kelly. "The rest was gross and embarrassing and hard for this aging pop star to believe."
Despite standing by her commentary, Pink begged fans on Twitter today to "look for a feud elsewhere."
Please look for a feud elsewhere. I have no issue with Demi Lovato or anyone else. I actually forgot she performed. I have opinions. MANY— P!nk (@Pink) September 4, 2015
But it doesn't seem as though Demi is taking Pink's shots lightly. She reponded on Twitter, citing that many of her other songs have done a world of good for people. "There's a time and place for everything," she wrote.
Cool For The Summer may not "save kid's lives" or "inspire" but I'd say Skyscraper & Warrior have done a pretty good job of helping people— Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) September 4, 2015
cope with mental illness. VMA's are sexy and fun. There's a time and place for everything.— Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) September 4, 2015
Yikes! It kind of feels like the VMA drama will never end. Can we all just get along and hold hands? Please and thank you. <3
