The premiere of Descendants 2 is quickly approaching (July 21, to be exact), and we seriously cannot wait. The oh so swoon-worthy Mitchell Hope – AKA Prince Ben – is giving us a little behind-the-scenes look at what it was like on set of the highly-anticipated sequel, and it is just what we need to hold us over until the film finally airs on Disney Channel in just a matter of weeks. Best part of the sneak peek? He gets in the cutest little bickering match with leading lady Dove Cameron.

In the series of clips posted by the official Disney Channel Descendants Instagram account, the Australian cutie brought us into his makeup trailer – where he revealed his favorite people in the D2 family. Spoiler alert – it's not Dove!

"So the makeup girls are probably my favorite. Don't tell anyone else."

Dove then added, "He literally told me last night that I was his favorite."

"I wouldn't say that. You're my second favorite after the makeup girls. Fine, you're my first favorite after the makeup girls. OK, I think that's the number one rule on set – is you never mess with the makeup girls."

Mitchell kicks off his day with some breakfast and quality time with his D2 buddy Booboo Stewart.

"Usually we just kind of like grab food and walk to our trailers – hang out for a bit and slowly make our way into the hair and makeup trailer, you know," Mitchell spilled.

Booboo chimed in, "We don't take too long to get ready, so we get here late. Everybody's already been working."

Mitchell continued, "The girls have to get their wigs on – their massive dresses and stuff. And we just kind of show up."

In the next video, Mitchell meets up with his on-screen mother to catch up before a long day of shooting. Of course, they shared some mother-son banter – in a very royal way, of course.

So sweet! This behind-the-scenes look at Mitchell's life on set is something we never knew was missing from our lives.
