Finally: The First Footage from 'Descendants 2' Has Arrived and It Has Totally Been Worth the Wait

Disney Channel

It's official: Descendants 2 is going to be the Disney Channel Original Movie event of the year. The first footage from the upcoming DCOM has finally arrived and it's proof it's simply going to be next level.

At the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart — better known as the core four VKs Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay — took to the stage to introduce the movie's opening number, "Ways to Be Wicked" at the start of the show.

It kicks off the film with a bang and proves that living with royalty in Aurdaon hasn't taken the evil out of these villain kids just yet. In fact, they've pretty much brought everyone to the evil side with them, all thanks to some poison apples. Check it out:

Can you even handle it? This musical number features all of your faves fully back in action and sets the tone that this movie is going to be bigger and badder than the first. Although we have to wait until July 21, 2017 for the musical to air, Dove, Sofia, Cameron and Booboo will be gracing the ballroom on Dancing With the Stars on Monday, May 1, where they'll be performing "WTBW" live for the first time.

But the jaw-dropping moments didn't stop there. During a commercial break, the first official full-length trailer premiered. And it was worth the wait.

SO MUCH IS HAPPENING IN THIS MOVIE. Mal is over dealing with the pressure of suppressing her evil nature and returns to the Isle, and of course her BFFs along with her love Prince Ben need to go find her. But Uma is not happy at all to see her old rival back in town and it looks like an epic duel is about to go down between them. China Anne McClain is legit slaying our souls as Uma already, so let's just let her fabulousness soak in. Also did you take note of that scene between Mal and Harry Hook?! Since Dove and Thomas Doherty are dating IRL, it's literally the cutest to see their characters interacting on-screen, but we digress.

It's was legit D2 overload and it was pure magic. Tons of the D2 cast posed together on the RDMA red carpet too and let's just take a moment to appreciate how fierce they all look together.

Seriously, what a crew. This new era is already more rotten than ever before. (And we mean that as the highest compliment obvi.)
