Attention Freeform watchers – we have some great news for you. The network just made the announcement that they will be renewing both The Fosters and Beyond for another season each, and fans of the shows are totally freaking out.
The highly praised family drama The Fosters is coming back for Season 5, and the return of the show comes with a huge milestone for the cast. They will be reaching their 100th episode in the upcoming fifth season – how cool is that? There is no word yet on when the new season will premiere, but you can catch brand new episodes of Season 4 on Tuesday, January 31 at 8 PM EST.
Actress Maia Mitchell was beyond thrilled to find out that the cast will be coming back for more. She took to Twitter to finally gush about the news, as she admitted to having a hard time keeping the secret to herself.
Although he is no longer on the show, Maia's former co-star Jake T. Austin recently took to Twitter during a question and answer session to further explain his decision to leave after starring in the series for three seasons.
The Fosters seemed to be quite the popular subject during Jake's Q&A, as another fan asked if the he left the show because of not wanting to continue the teenage role he portrayed. Jake was quick to shut down the rumor and further explain.
Beyond is also coming back for another round. The new series, which first premiered on January 2, racked up over 14 million views in just the first week alone – so it comes to no surprise at all that more episodes are soon to be in the works. The show follows the story of a guy named Holden Matthews – played by Burkely Duffield – who wakes up from a 12-year coma only to find out he has new abilities that come along with some major challenges. If everything we have seen so far is any indication of what Season 2 has in store, prepare for some craziness.
