2016 has been a year filled with so many highlights, and with only a few weeks left, we here at M felt like this was the best time to take a trip down memory lane and look back at some of the year's biggest stories. We're focusing on all things Disney Channel, since there have been plenty of OMG moments from the stars of some of your beloved shows and movies.
Everyone had been wondering what life is like in East High ever since the original Wildcats graduated, and the story is finally going to continue. Disney Channel confirmed a new movie is in the works, so get ready to break out the "Get'cha Head In the Game" choreography again.
Rove was essentially the Disney dream couple. They met on set of their show, Liv and Maddie, and fell in love. They got engaged in April, but by October, they had broken up for good.
GMW is a show that instantly became beloved by all as soon as it made it's debut. With a cast of relatable characters and even more fabulous actors who bring them to life, it has become a show that tackles issues about friendship, love and life in a truly unique way. That's why fans have been rather surprised that there still isn't any word about a season four.
Fans were beyond pumped when it was announced that Descendants was getting a sequel and this time around, the cast updated fans every second of the way. They shared tons of Snapchat videos, Instagram pics and behind-the-scenes looks at life on set, showing how magical their friendships are with each other. We even got treated to the first teaser trailer and let's just say, China McClain and all the new characters are going to bring the drama for our fave villain kids!
Dove Cameron and the entire cast and crew of Liv and Maddie officially said goodbye to the show, as it filmed it's final episode. Liv and Maddie: Cali Style, the final season of the show, is currently airing, so fans haven't had to say goodbye to the Rooney family just yet.
Oh, snap! Fans did not see this coming, but it was such a pleasant surprise. It was announced that Raven-Symoné will be reprising her role as Raven Baxter in a new spinoff series where this time she's a single mom and one her kids has psychic abilities, just like she does. And her BFF Chelsea will be back too for plenty of shenanigan.
Adventures In Babysitting, starring the lovely Sofia Carson and Sabrina Carpenter was the network's 100th DCOM, and the premiere was one epic party that brought back all of the stars from classic DCOMs. (Tbh, we're still not over that Starstruck reunion!)
