The girls of Little Mix are hard at work on their new album and in a recent interview with The Sun, Jesy Nelson spilled all about what the group has been writing about: love of course.
While Jesy is happily engaged to Jake Roche and Jade Thirlwall is dating The Struts bassist Jed Elliott, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards both dealt with tough breakups. And it looks like these breakups. most notably Perrie's split from Zayn Malik, are the inspiration behind these new tunes.
"I think it’s always easier to write about your experiences through music because more people can relate to them anyway. It is a lot more mature, this album. There’s a lot of things that have been said that perhaps nobody has heard yet, if you know what I mean," Jesy said. "I think it’s pretty obvious [what these songs are about]. I think all the songs are very relatable to girls, and our fan base in general. We’re going through different things. Some of us have gone through heartbreak while others of us have found love. I think it’s a very positive album. I love what the first song is about. I love that the first song is like a happy heartbreak song. It’s not about being down, it’s all about being like, 'Yeah!'"
Woah, that is a lot to take in! So it looks like each of the girls' personal experiences found their way into some songs, but we have a feelings fans are really going to dying to know what Perrie has to say about her heartbreak, since Zayn has openly written songs about their relationship.
