Hey M Girls!
We have a BRAND NEW spin on the daily advice column on mmm-mag.com. Each day at 8:00 PM/EST we'll post a reader question and have our M Girl answer it!! Today, we're talking getting teased in school -- by your friends!!
M Reader EdwardCullenObsessor5396 asked:
There's this girl in school who's really mean to me. I tell her that I don't like it but she just takes it as a joke. She's not trying to be mean, but she's really hurting my feelings. How can I tell her to stop so she'll take it seriously?
And M Girl's answer is:
"You should call her and organize a time that you guys can sit down and talk. Tell her that she's really hurting your feelings and that you don't take it as a joke. Let her know that you don't think it's fair that she treats you like that, especially since you'd never do anything like that to her. You can even tell her that you know she doesn't mean it, but that it hurts a lot. Maybe then she'll get the picture and stop teasing you. If she doesn't, I would ignore her when she gets like that. Maybe if she sees that it's not fun for you to be around her and that pretty soon you won't be her friend, she'll stop with the bullying. If it gets out of control, I think you should tell a parent or teacher. You shouldn't be getting made fun of and sometimes, the only way to stop it is by telling an adult!"
