Hey M Girls!
We have a BRAND NEW spin on the daily advice column on mmm-mag.com. Each day at 8:00 PM/EST we'll post a reader question and have our M Girl answer it!! Today, we're talking not letting bullies bring you down for your insecurities!!
M Reader twilightfan4life asked:
People make fun of me because I have a hump on my back. We think it's from my diabetes. How can I keep people from bringing me down?
And M Girl's answer is:
"Nobody's perfect -- never forget that. Everyone has flaws. Whether it's an unpredictable mood, a nose you may think is too big, legs you may think are too skinny, a hump in your back that you think is too noticeable -- the possibilities are truly endless. There's no way to understand why people tease others for their insecurities. They may not get enough attention at home or they might be angry about other things in their lives so they try to take control through teasing. The most important thing to know is that it's not about you -- it's about them. You should ignore the teasers and let them know that you're not going to let them bother you. If that fails, then tell an adult about it. They'll be able to help you stop the bullying. But most importantly, you need to focus on not letting it bring you down. Rather than looking at the hump in your back, think about what you like about yourself and focus on that. You're an awesome girl -- so don't let anyone tell you otherwise!"
