Hey M Girls!
We have a BRAND NEW spin on the daily advice column on mmm-mag.com. Each day at 8:00 PM/EST we'll post a reader question and have our M Girl answer it!! Today, we're talking feeling like you're losing a BFF!!
M Reader ronnie25 asked: My BFF hasn't been talking to me lately and I haven't done anything wrong to make him mad. I know if I start talking to him first, he will probably get deffensive and blame me for everything. I feel really sad about this because it's our last days together until we move to different schools. What should I do?
And M Girl's answer is: "It sounds to me like your friend is having a hard time knowing he has to say goodbye to you in a few days. Lots of times when people think about losing someone close to them, they completely avoid the situation and push the other person away. He definitely just doesn't want to think about having to say goodbye, and feeling like he's losing you forever. To make the parting easier on him, he's trying to leave on bad terms so that his heart doesn't break as much. It's absolutely the wrong way to approach this kind of situation, but he is only human and that's a natural reaction for us. I know that it might start out as a blowup if you call him up and ask him why he's so angry. But, by handling the situation, you confront the fight right away and get everything off each other's chest. You need to let him know that you're still going to be his friend, even if you're miles apart."
