Hey M Girls!
We have a BRAND NEW spin on the daily advice column on mmm-mag.com. Each day at 8:00 PM/EST we'll post a reader question and have our M Girl answer it!! Today, we're talking about dealing with boys and parents!
M Reader athenarevelta wrote:
"This boy that I have a huge crush on asked me out but I had to say no because my mom said not to date boys. But I can't get over him! Please help."
And M Girl's answer is:
"Ah, the old "you're too young to date" thing. As much as it stinks, sometimes a mother knows best! She might think that you aren't ready to date boys yet and just wants to protect you and make sure your safe. It's important that you trust and respect her. No boy is worth fighting with your parents over. If he really likes you, he'll wait until you're old enough to date boys. Give it some time. If you feel like you are ready to handle dating boys, try to sit down with your mom and talk to her. See why she doesn't want you to date yet and maybe you can come to some kind of agreement. Good luck!"
