Miranda Cosgrove's NBC comedy series Crowded may have been canceled after one season of only 13 episodes, but the Nickelodeon alum is now returning to the network for another new comedy pilot – Spaced Out.
In the space-travel television series, Miranda will be playing a series-regular role. Her character Casey is a super smart and enthusiastic software engineer who – along with her co-workers – has a huge dream of sending the first humans to the planet Mars. As a matter of fact – her new role kind of sounds a lot like her character Shea Moore from Crowded, who was aspiring to be an astronaut.
Spaced Out isn't the only upcoming project on Miranda's schedule. She is also returning to voice her adorable character in Despicable Me 3. Aside from lending her voice to Margo, Miranda has been up to a lot since her widely praised Nick show iCarly wrapped. In fact, she's been super busy working with other former Nickelodeon stars.
Following Despicable Me 2, the actress joined her Drake & Josh in lending her voice to the animated film A Mouse Tale. But that's not all. Miranda also starred alongside Zoey 101 cutie Austin Butler in a thriller movie, titled The Intruders. Oh how we just love how Nick stars from the past always manage to reunite.
There has been no word yet on an air date for Miranda's exciting NBC project, but we are seriously hoping the Nickelodeon alum posts some pics from set once filming begins. In addition to Miranda, the cast also includes Scrubs actor Donald Faison and Ken Kirby (who has had small roles in fan favorite teen dramas Supernatural and Chasing Life).
We can't wait to find out who else will be joining the squad.
