Best news ever for all you Despicable Me fans out there! Pantone just announced they developed a color specially inspired by the yellow, gibberish-speaking minions from the movies.
"Minion Yellow" is now an official Pantone color, according to their website. In a statement, Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, said, "Just as the sun's rays enliven us, PANTONE Minion Yellow is a color that heightens awareness and creates clarity, lighting the way to the intelligence, originality and the resourcefulness of an open mind — this is the color of hope, joy, and optimism."
And you'll never guess who was involved in the shade-making process! Pharrell, who also wrote and sang the theme song "Happy" for the franchise's sequel, was heavily involved. According to the site, "... Pharrell... came up with the idea..." Well, that's one creative idea that makes us super happy, Pharrell! ;)
