The best part of summer is getting to spend time outside with your buds. Taylor Swift definitely knows a thing or two about that! School's out and the options for each day are limitless. You could spend your time by the pool, surfing or swimming at the beach, or out in the backyard playing volleyball or some other sport with friends.
The worst part of summer is not getting to have it all year round. You know how, about January/February, your heart (not to mention your complexion) starts to ache for warmer months? Yeah, we get that feeling too, but luckily, we've found a way to beat it, at least temporarily.
With these DIY rock mementos, you can have a piece of summer with you throughout the entire year, and most especially, for those bleak winter months when you're desperate for some fresh, sea water and a light, beach breeze. For now, it'll be fun looking for rocks, decorating them, and gifting some to your friends. Later on, you'll thank yourself for putting aside (and putting your own stamp on) your own personal slice of summer.
What You'll Need
Rocks from the beach
Different colored Sharpies
Step 1: Scour the beach up and down for several perfectly flat, smooth rocks that draw your attention.
Step 2: Using whatever color sharpies you'd like, draw nautical-inspired designs like fish, an anchor, shells... maybe even a mermaid!
Step 3: Gift to your friends or keep them on a shelf in your room as a reminder of summertime or a vacation you went on. Try to collect as many as you can from different beaches!
