Now this is something Jelena shippers most likely never saw coming. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have engaged in a heated Instagram battle, and it's all because of JB's new relationship with Sofia Richie. That's right, his most high-profile ex-girlfriend has something to say, and Sel isn't backing down. LET THE GAMES BEGIN.
It all started when Justin went on a major posting spree, uploading tons of selfies he's taken with Sofia during their current trip in Japan.
But the "Sorry" singer wasn't too happy to see that people were flooding his comments section on his pics, not being so nice about this possible new romance. This then led him to write in the caption of the final selfie he posted of the pair that he might just have to make his account private.
Granted, no one should ever have to deal with any sort of online bullying so it's understandable why Justin said something, but fans were not happy that he was willing to go to such extremes to defend Sofia. This set off the firestorm mostly because he never publicly stood up for any of his exes when they got hate, including Selena and more recently Hailey Baldwin. And this is where Sel stepped in, leaving a little comment on the pic, letting Justin know that he shouldn't ever turn on his fans, since they're the reason he is such a successful artist.
Let's just take a moment to process how the songstress stood up not only for Beliebers, but fans everywhere, like the boss she is.
But it didn't stop there, at least that's what everyone thinks. Justin allegedly fired back, saying that he just wants to see everyone get along, and kind of called Sel out for using him to gain attention.
She didn't take this lightly and apparently responded back yet again, mentioning how Justin wasn't faithful during their relationship and yet she stood by his side.
THESE REVELATIONS THOUGH.
For many it was still still unclear as to whether these responses are real, or just the trick of some Photoshop wizards. But before things got even more carried away, Gossip Cop confirmed that only Sel's initial comment is in fact legit, but everything that came after was not. The "Kill 'Em With Kindness" singer did decide though to take to her own Instagram account to share posts in honor of her Selenators.
"My whole life. You matter most. Thank you for letting me do what I love every day," she wrote in the caption of the sweet collage.
Looks like Selena just wants her fans to know how much they matter to her, and that she's simply grateful for their constant support. Although the future for her and Justin remains unclear, her love for her fans is one thing everyone can always count on.
