YouTube sensation Ingrid Nilsen doesn't just film make-up tutorials and cooking videos anymore. Thanks to a special partnership with Awesomeness TV and the New York City-based store called Story, Ingrid just introduced her very own home decor collection!
Story is a store that changes its content every few weeks. Each "story" has a theme behind it and the current theme includes stories from Ingrid and other well-known YouTubers, like Connor Franta.
M stopped by Ingrid's special fan event to chat with the DIY queen — who has amassed over 3 million subscribers throughout the past five years — all about her stylish and colorful collection.
"So this is a curation of this really awesome stuff that I think definitely represents my personal style," Ingrid reveals EXCLUSIVELY to M. "I have little things in here like the Darling magazine article that I wrote. It was my first-ever published piece of writing, which I’m really excited about because I love writing."
"Story is just one of my favorite stores ever," Ingrid gushes. "I always come here when I’m in New York. This was just like a dream for me. We have everything from candles to little plants… The little air plants are so cool. You just soak them in water and you don’t have to water them. It’s great for people who kill plants!"
And that's not all — the pillows have a special meaning, as they were designed by Ingrid herself.
"We have a little bit of food and then these pillows I designed. We have 'Coffee Is my Boyfriend,' inspired by one of my favorite quotes. 'Love the Little Things,' and 'Normal Is Boring,' which is probably my favorite!"
So how did this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime collaboration come to be?
"It came through Awesomeness because they had a connection with Rachel, the founder of Story. So when they said I had the opportunity to be in Story with my own story, I was like, 'duh!'"
