Things are not looking good for Zayn Malik, the former One Direction star who is, these days, constantly followed by a gray cloud of drama. In the latest development, one of Zayn's former friends is coming forward and calling Perrie Edwards' ex-fiancé OUT.
In an interview, the source said, "Zayn has been acting like a complete idiot. He was protected and looked after for so long by so many people who genuinely cared about him and his future."
But that's not all Zayn's former friend had to say. According to the source, Zayn is refusing help from anyone who was involved in his past career and has cut ties with nearly everyone, including the guys of 1D.
"But now he has refused to have anything to do with anyone who is still involved with One Direction — from Syco to Modest Management to his old friends at the US label. We were all the people who loved and supported him through five years in 1D, through some very difficult times."
"He's proving himself to be a hugely disloyal person," the source continued. "He's a little boy who needs to grow up. It's really bad for him."
And here's the real scandalous zinger. The source went as far to draw a rather controversial comparison. "He's turning into Chris Brown but without any hits."
"He is self-destructing right now and I hope he's got someone there for him," the source continued. "I doubt he has, though, so that's why I'm worried for him. He's [upsetting] so many people, it's very hard to see him having much support left by the time he's finally ready to release any music."
We know what the source means by "upsetting so many people." After all, he called off his engagement to his longtime love Perrie, he seems to be on the outs with Louis Tomlinson again, and he's even picking Twitter fights with Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris.
"He has gone power crazy," the source revealed. "You can blame other people, like his new management, but really it's him. I don't understand it. He has not had any success as a solo artist yet, so his ego shouldn't be that driven. He has gone mad, power mad."
YIKES! That's a whole lot of dirt to dish on a former friend. Whatever the case, we hope that Zayn finds his stride and makes amends with some of the people — like Louis, for example — that he disconnected himself from. After all, he's going to need support eventually and while it's certain that his family is there for him, he still might need another shoulder to lean on when he finally launches his solo career.
