Veronica Roth is best-known for her epic Divergent books, which have been turned into blockbuster movies. Veronica is back, this time with a whole new series, stepping away from Tris and the faction world she has created and into a whole new adventure. Carve the Mark tells the story of a plan where everyone develops a unique power that is supposed to help the planet's future but for Akos and Cyra, their gifts don't necessarily help them, instead leave them open to being controlled and hurt by others. They end up joining forces in an unlikely way and have to figure out how to protect each other, their world and themselves.
If you're a fan of Veronica's writing, then you know you're in for some action-packed scenes, complex characters and an overall story that will just transport you into a whole new world that you'll never want to leave. We chatted with the author where she told us all about how she first thoughts of this story idea when she was only 12 years old, what she's learned about herself throughout her writing process and dished out some slid advice any young writer should totally hear.
