If you are anything like us, then you are on the edge of your seat waiting for the premiere of the most highly-anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie around. Yep, that's right. We're talkin' Descendants 2.
Unfortunately, an exact air date hasn't been released quite yet – although it has been announced that the premiere will take place this summer. Now that does sound like a long time away, but the cast is helping the time pass by spilling behind-the-scenes secrets from the set of the sequel.
First, China McClain (AKA Uma) showed us what an average day for her was like. From getting into her blue braided wig to FaceTiming with her family, we saw it all. Next up was one of the OG characters from the first film – Cameron Boyce, who plays Carlos. Cameron gave us a sneak peek inside his life on set of D2, which includes a morning shave and some leisurely nature walks in between takes.
Next on the list to show us what the D2 set life is like? Dove Cameron, of course. The lead actress started by showing fans what it's like to transform into Mal.
"So we are about 80 percent through hair and makeup. 80 percent through makeup – I know this is nothing close to purple. Slowly starting to wake up. Slowly starting to start my day. I've got my breakfast here – my huge coffee, my huge bottle of water, my speakers. We're ready to go. It's going to be a good one," Dove said in the first clip Disney Channel shared on their official Instagram account.
What was next on the agenda? Getting her hair pinned to prep for Mal's purple hair.
"A lot goes into this!" Dove said, as she applied her wig cap and prepared to get tons of pins put into her hair.
If one thing's for sure, it's that Dove spends a lot of time on her hair, makeup and wardrobe.
"We definitely collaborate with our lovely makeup artists here to make sure that we get the right feel for the character because things like hair, makeup and wardrobe really affect performance and vibe," Dove shared.
It took quite a while for Dove to figure out her wig color back when they were trying out styles for the first film, and she's so glad they picked purple.
"We tested so many colors and looks three years ago when we were starting this whole process – and it's really lucky that we ended up with the colors that we did," Dove spilled. "Purple happens to be something that complements my skin tone and my eyes, but it didn't have to be that way. And Sofia too – oh my gosh, that blue brings out her eyes and her skin like nothing else."
And there you have it – Dove's final look! Once she was all made up, Dove and China hopped in the car to drive to their filming location.
So sweet! We can't wait to see which cast member will be next to spill more secrets.
