Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is set to hit theater on May 19, but some fans were a big surprised to see a brand new cast. It can be an adjustment! But that's right, it's totally different actors taking on the characters of the Heffley family and playing Greg Heffley this time around is Jason Drucker.
You might recognize him from the movie Barely Lethal, that starred Hailee Steinfeld and Dove Cameron. Fun fact: Jason and Dove played brother and sister in the movie and Dove just recently liked a tweet, congratulating her one-time fictional brother on his big role.
Barely Lethal was Dove's first big theatrical movie role, so it's actually really adorable how she showed Jason some love on Twitter. Clearly that film will always hold a special place in Dove's heart! She even shared a mega-adorable pic of the pair on her Instagram account and wrote the sweetest message in the caption.
"Coffee n long talks with this kid makin' me smile all cheesy like. only played his big sister for 2 months last year, but became his adopted big sister for life. our movie #barelylethal comes out on DVD tomorrow:: pick up a copy of you like me//movies//DVD," she wrote.
And now her little bro has snagged the lead role in his own movie, and Dove has been slaying herself with all of her upcoming projects like Descendants 2 and her solo music she's working on. How so much has changed!
