Justin Bieber has been nothing but honest lately about his feelings and in a new interview, he spoke about just how much he's learned about himself from one very big part of his life: his relationships, especially the one he had with Selena Gomez. JB was asked about Haliey Baldwin, who just said the two aren't officially a couple, and he admitted the model is "someone I really love," but based on mistakes he's made when it comes to love in the past, he's not rushing into anything with her or anyone else.
“I don’t want to put anyone in a position where they feel like I’m only theirs, only to be hurt in the end. Right now in my life, I don’t want to be held down by anything," Justin said. "I already have a lot that I have to commit to. A lot of responsibilities. I don’t want to feel like the girl I love is an added responsibility. I know that in the past I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn’t mean to make them happy in the moment. So now I’m just more so looking at the future, making sure I’m not damaging them. What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged. It’s really hard to fix wounds like that. It’s so hard. I just don’t want to hurt her.”
This is actually quite mature and respectable of Justin and the fact that he's really taking into consideration the feelings of others in his life shows how much he's grown up. He simply doesn't want to hurt Hailey, since he deeply cares for her, and it's obvious she respects his honesty. As for Selena, it seems like these two might finally be over for good, but Biebs did mention he will always care about his ex and if she ever were to need him for anything, he would be there to support her.
"We don’t talk often, but we’re cordial. If she needs something, I’m there for her. If I need something, she’s there for me," Justin said about Sel.
It seems like we really are in a new era after all.
