Louis Tomlinson and his family are going through an extremely difficult time right now, with the passing of his beloved mother, Johannah Deakin. Louis was scheduled to perform his new single with Steven Aoki, "Just Hold On," at the X Factor finale on Saturday, and he kept that promise. Louis gave a heartfelt performance to the song, which was simply a lovely tribute to his mom.
And Simon Cowell even said a few words to Louis too, praising him for his bravery to hitting the stage and reminding him just how proud his mom was and will always be of him. Here's the full clip:
Not only did Louis have the love and support of everyone at X Factor, but his One Direction family all came out to be there for him too. His bandmates Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles, along with their longtime hairstylist/makeup artist and good friend to them all, Lou Teasdale, were on hand for Tommo and his siblings, who were at the show too.
"Harry, Niall and Liam all wanted to be there to support Louis tonight for what was undoubtedly one of the most difficult moments of his life. It was an incredible and special thing for them to get back together as a four and be like brothers again," an X Factor source said to The Sun. "Niall flew in overnight from New York so he could be there and Liam came from Los Angeles. It was that important they were together. They were all in Louis’s dressing room together and it was obviously an incredible emotional night."
It's clear the 1D crew will forever and always be a family. Lou took to Instagram to share a selfie with Louis, letting everyone know just how proud she is.
And she snapped this precious pic backstage with Lottie Tomlinson too. "I love you a lot Lottie 💖," she wrote in the caption.
Lottie meanwhile decided to show off how she made her love for her mom permanent, and took to Snapchat to share how the lips tattoo she has on her forearm was actually in honor of Johannah. She'll always have a little piece of her mom with her wherever she goes.
Louis shared his thoughts following his performance on Twitter, letting the world know just how difficult it was to pour his heart out on stage, something 5 Seconds of Summer's Michael Clifford feels Louis should be nothing but proud about.
