ICYMI, major changes were made to the cast of ABC Family's hit show The Fosters this past season. Jake T. Austin, who previously played Jesus, the twin brother of Cierra Ramirez on the family-friendly drama, was recast. Just days after Noah Centineo — AKA the new Jesus — made his first appearance on the show, Maia Mitchell is speaking out in a new interview about the switch.
“It’s been good. We’re all very excited to have Noah,” Maia revealed. “He’s awesome and super cool. I think we’re just ready for a fresh start and I’m really excited to be working with him.”
We know the change in cast didn't go over well with some people. (If you remember, Jake himself went on a Twitter rant and tried to gather up as many fans as he could to protest the decision.) But we have to admit, it's nice to see Maia, who also stars in Disney Channel's Teen Beach 2, supportive of the new member of her on-screen family.
We're sure Jake will always have a special bond with his former TV family. Just like he's remained close with some of his Wizards of Waverly Place co-stars, there's a good chance he will always stay tight with Maia, Cierra, and the rest of the cast.
What do you think of Jake's replacement, Noah? Let us know in the comments!
